Many people have said to David and I, "If you wait to have kids until you think you can afford them, then you will never have kids". Our response has always been a little humorous chuckle and and a look of "sure". Well, yesterday David and I spent from 9:30AM until noon meeting with our financial adviser and CPA to discuss our newly formed financial bond as husband and wife, and trying to get our act together before the little one comes along.
To sum up the day and what we learned, David said it best. As the clock is turning to 6PM and we are still hovering over our computer with our newly improved family budget and nothing but financial paperwork, insurance, student loans that are more than our mortgage, and bills thrown across the room, David turn to me (with our final numbers crunched) and says...."are babies returnable... cause there is no room in our budget!?". AKA...babies are expensive :)
After a few moments of panic, we hear that funny little saying in the back of our heads.... "If you wait to have kids until you think you can afford them, then you will never have kids", and realize...oh how true it is!!!
After a fun filled night of tweaking, and planning I'm pretty sure were going to be just fine...except my whole plan of never working again kinda fell through the cracks...boo :)

Take a Sneak Peek :)
I'm not gonna lie, my job does have it's advantages (in the form of an ultrasound machine)....David and I frequently get sneak peeks in between my monthly appointments of the little Nonnenmacher :) This is what we got a glimpse of at the clinic when I was around 13 weeks....
I'm still not feeling anything going on in there...but letme tell you, the little thing was sure kicking and punching up a storm!!!
We are super excited and cannot wait for September 13th to get here. The appointment we have been waiting for this whole time will finally be here....boy or girl???? We are soo impatient and cannot wait to find out. Our luck it that the little buggar is going to be stubborn and be in the only position where we can't tell!! Well... y'all will find out when we do :)

Getting everyone on the same page
Just to get everyone up to date and on the same page, here is what you missed in the last 4 months....
David and I got married and had the most perfect wedding April 9, 2011. Thanks to all who showed up it was the best weekend of our lives. We went to Saint Lucia for our honeymoon, and had a blast. Even though it rained the first 4 days we were there, we managed to make the bast out of it and went SCUBA diving, learned to sail, traveled the island, got to take a mudbath in some hot volcanic springs, and oh yeah...did plenty of eating!! It was amazing, but we were ready to get back to reality.
We had already bought a house so coming home and starting our lives together seemed seamless. However...the clean house we thought we left, turns out was a disaster of wedding paraphernalia and destruction when we returned! I guess I figured out where all the wedding stuff goes after the wedding...back to your house!! After a few days of stepping over boxes and dead flowers, we eventually got cleaning and back on our way to being functional members of society :)
The next 2 months flew by, David and I were back to work, hanging out with friends, and excited for our next weekend away "mini vacation". I was goign to a veterinary conference in Destin, FL for the week and David was going to meet up with me to spend a weekend at the beach relaxing and drinking fruity drinks by the water...or so we thought.
This first weekend in June is when our lives changed forever. David was working on night shift with the MPD and I was home packing to leave for my trip in the morning. I was bored, didn't wanna pack, nothing on TV...not a good combination. While going through by bathroom stuff I would need to bring, I came across a pregnancy test that a friend had purchased for me as a joke and I had just thrown in the back of my cabinet. So, what dose a girl do who is bored on a Friday night....pee on a stick just for the fun of it!!! Hahaha, yeah...I don't know why I felt compelled to. I guess cause I knew the weekend ahead would be full of those fruity drinks we missed from the honeymoon, and I thought...Why not???!!
As you all know for the reason I am now writing this blog... I saw 2 lines when I next looked at that little stick. After 3 whirlwind back and fourth trips to wal-mart and 5 tests later, to my unbelieved amazement I was looking at 5 sticks that all told me the same thing.... SURPRISE, YOUR PREGNANT!!! After my excitement and tears of joy were contained, the next question popped into my head.... "how do I tell David??" Well, sadly no one wants to tell their husband that they are going to be a Dad for the first time over the phone. But when your husband is working on a night shift as a police officer, and you call him crying so hard that you can't get any words out of your mouth, and all he can understand is "please come home now"...they kinda freak out! I had to break it to him over the phone, so he didn't think I was being held hostage with a gun to my head. :) Needless to say, he was happier than I had ever heard him (once he picked up the phone from dropping it) and we've been busily planning ever since!!!
So, that's what you've missed :) So far everything looks great and were expecting to have a new addition to our family February 4th, 2012!!!
